Introduction of Buffet RestaurantWakayama Prefecture, which is vertically long, has a very different climate in Kihoku and Kinan. Kihoku belongs to the so-called Setouchi Climate Zone, which has long sunshine hours and less precipitation4. By contrast, Kinan is warm and has a lot of rainfall as a whole, and citrus cultivation utilizing it is thriving. The number of farmhouses tends to decrease throughout the prefecture, but the number of full-time farmers is maintained. In particular, 62% of farmers are engaged in fruits (the national average is 8.9%), and oranges (44%), plums (16%), persimmons (14%) are thriving. All of these are ranked first in Japan in terms of production volume. In particular, plums account for 65% of the country's production, and the total expenditure of plum dried is the largest in Japan.
